	Q: What are micro-prisms? A: The reflective material we use is called micro-prism technology. It is the most advanced reflective material on the market. It contains tiny micro-prisms that reflect light in multiple directions. This advanced technology assures that your pets will be seen by motorists. Q: What is the difference between reflective material and flashing (or strobe) lights attached to collars and leashes? A: Flashing lights and strobe lights require power sources (batteries) and are only visible if the strobes are directly placed in the line of sight of the oncoming traffic. Attached lights can also be obscured if the animal moved its head. Our collars and leashes do not use lights. We use reflective material that does not require battery power. Our reflective banding shines in multiple directions and provides a much greater degree of safety for your pets. Q: Are these collars visible on long-haired cats and dogs? A: Our collars are extremely effective on cats and dogs with short to medium length fur. Longer fur can obstruct parts of the reflective band. Even so, our solid reflective surface is more likely to be seen than any other collar we have tested. Many of our customers have purchased collars for long-haired dogs and cats. Our customers agree with us that while very long hair on pets can obscure parts of our collar, long-haired pets are safer with Spot My Dog collars than without them. Q: Are Spot My Cat collars safe for cats? A: Yes, all aspects of our cat collars have been designed with cat comfort and safety in mind. The reflective tape is a solid band of highly visible radiant white. All of our collars are adjustable to ensure perfect fit. The clasps we use on our cat collars are the breakaway types. Breakaway clasps ensure that cats will not be harmed if their collars get caught on objects, such as branches or fences. We use 10 pound breakaway clips.
